This week’s challenge
If faith is new to you:
1) Pray a small prayer every day “Jesus, I’m not sure who you are. Please reveal yourself to me and give me the gift of faith.” Ask and it will be given.
2) Get a Bible. Start reading the Gospels! (Sam recommends starting with the Gospel of John.)
3) As you go about your day, start thinking about the needs of others. Look outside yourself… the path of love and charity can end with faith.
If you’re already a committed Christian:
1) Spend the next 8 days (the Octave of Easter) drawing closer to Mary, to Jesus through prayer, some daily worship and thanksgiving for what he has done for us.
Sunday Gospel Reflection
John 20:1-18
- “Woman, why are you weeping”? Have you ever heard the whisper of Jesus asking you why you are sad, weeping, giving into anxiety?
- What action have you taken to lift your spirit?
- Given the current state of emergency, what do you hear the victorious Jesus say to you in your prayer time?
- Have you given witness or heard another’s witness of His presence here and now ?

Have you noticed? Incredible good is surfacing; people sharing faith, reaching out to others with great intentions, witness stories of God’s love and presence in the most difficult situations, miracles happening, conversions taking place, people hungering for sacraments etc. It is so good to ponder and recall often, that the Holy Spirit is very active and not confined, isolated or limited to social distancing. He is entering hearts! Take time to marvel at the Resurrection. To embrace and welcome new life!
