“Celebrating 100 years of Active Faith, Hope and Love”
Holy Family to celebrate 100 years as a parish on Sunday, 31 October at 11 am. July 1, 2021 marked the 100th anniversary of Holy Family as a parish in its own right. Prior to that, ours was a mission church of St Francis Xavier Church in Carlsruhe. A Centenary Mass will be held next Sunday, October 31, 2021 at 11 am, with Auxiliary Bishop Wayne Lobsinger celebrating. A short historical presentation will follow the Mass.
Please Note: There will be only one Mass next Sunday at 11 am. (No 9 am Mass Oct 31st).
All Souls Day – Remembering those who have passed and supporting their family
The All Souls Day Mass will take place, Tues. Nov. 2nd at 7 pm. If your loved one passed away in the past year, you are invited to submit the name and a photo of the deceased person by emailing it to sam@holyfamily.ca by Friday, October 30th.
During the prayers of the faithful, your loved one’s image will be shown and their name called out. You or someone you designate is invited to come forward and light a candle from the Baptismal candle in a special remembrance ceremony.

A reminder to volunteers who have been vaccinated to please submit your proof of vaccination to the parish office. Thank you to those who have already made their submission. St. Vincent Christmas Hamper Project
Christmas still seems far away, but this is the time when the Vincentians have to start planning for the Christmas hampers for the less fortunate in our community. If you, or someone you know, needs a hamper for Christmas, please call the parish office. We always hear in the gospel how much Jesus loves the poor, so please, do not be shy, it is our privilege to help.
This Sunday’s Gospel
Mark 10: 46-52
Discussion Questions
- What do you rely on for protection and security? Does it limit your efforts to call out to Jesus?
- What difficult or seemingly hopeless elements do you have in your life right now?
