The Sacrament of Reconciliation – a priceless gift!

Advent is a special time to prepare your heart.  Plan to make the Sacrament of Reconciliation during the season.  Father Emmanuel hears confessions prior to Weekday Masses, and from 6 – 645 pm Saturdays, and 8 – 8:45 am Sundays.  Avoid waiting till the week before Christmas by planning ahead.

Remembering loved ones with Christmas Flowers

Monetary donations towards the flowers to decorate the altar are gratefully received.  In appreciation, the parish will be offering the Christmas Eve Midnight Mass for the intentions of the Donors.  It is a lovely way to pray for the souls of your loved ones this Christmas.

St. Vincent de Paul News

Thank you to all who responded to our call for items last week.  The needs have been met.

A reminder about food donations for the poor.  Providing staples such as soup, pork and beans, pasta, peanut butter, cereal etc. is very helpful and enormously appreciated by the people we gratefully serve.  Lately there have been some food donations where the best before dates of the items have expired.  We do not give expired products to our clients.  Please check best before dates before dropping them off.  Also, please provide everyday staples that people would regularly use.   Items such as unusual sauces etc. are of no use to our clients.

Thank you very much for your help – the need is great, and our clients appreciate it very much.

Music Ministry Needed for 9 am Mass

The parish is seeking a musician to lead music and singing for Sunday morning Mass at 9am, and occasionally 11am Mass based on availability. A stipend is available for each Mass served at.  Those interested are asked to contact the parish office. Applicants must be able to comply with the Diocesan Vaccination Policy.”

COVID-19 Safety Measures

Masks: Father would like to remind all parishioners that they are required to wear a mask while inside the building and to keep it on for the duration of Mass. Thank you for your cooperation.

Volunteers:  Proof of vaccination or notifying the parish office to plan a rapid test is now required for parish volunteers until further notice.  More info

Discussion Questions

  • What should we do? Describe a time you asked for God’s direction, but found  ‘doing’ the response really tough!
  • Name two things in your life, comparable to ’wheat’ and ’chaff’ to be kept, to be burned.
