Highlights

  • Financial Results for the Month of July 2023 have been released.  Please pick up a copy in the Narthex
  • Funeral Mass for Walter Ellig: Thursday, August 17th at 11 am, Holy Family Parish
  • Change for Charity Jar out this weekend at Holy Family.

On the 2nd Sunday of each month the C.W.L. put out the Change for Charity jar, we collect your change to donate to Saugeen Hospice.  The Grey Bruce Hospice in Owen Sound offers loving and compassionate end of life care to those in need.  Your spare change can help to build a satellite location in Walkerton.  Please empty your pockets into the jar this weekend and let’s get it built!

Parish Photo Directory Update:  Our committee is in the process of reviewing the first draft.  We anticipate the project will be complete and copies available by late September / early October.  Thank you for your patience.

Are you interested in becoming a Catholic?

If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith, we invite you to contact the parish office.  This fall we will have a program (RCIA, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) for the purpose of sharing what the Catholic Church teaches and to support those discerning this decision.  The program has an initial inquiry period and then progresses through many important topics of faith, shared, discussed and experienced in meaningful ways.  Everyone’s faith journey is unique and special, and God’s love is powerful and exciting, bringing new life to whomever is open to receive it.  More info:  519-364-1973

Adoration Chapel News

Our Adoration Chapel is open Mondays at 9 am until Thursday at 8 pm.  Come spend quiet time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.  If you would like to visit during night hours – contact Don Waechter at  364-1185.  Day time drop in visits welcome. Thank you

Please keep in your prayers

those who are terminally ill, facing surgery or caring for loved ones going through a hard time, physically, mentally or spiritually!

This Sunday’s Gospel

Matthew 14: 22-33

Discussion Questions:

  1. What is your favourite atmosphere of prayer? Is your preference to be alone,  with family,  with the faith community?
  2. Share an experience when you set aside fear and really put your trust in God?
  3. Take some alone time, even just 5 minutes and privately worship God saying:  “Truly you are the Son of God”

May you be blessed with a surrendering experience granting you peace and an assurance of God’s care.
