St. Francis Xavier Quilting Report We had a very successful 11 weeks tying quilts for the Missions at the Carlsruhe Hall this past winter. We usually had 12 ladies tying quilts weekly. Total quilts 82, crochet/knitted blankets 41, and child’s size vest 38.  Total sent to Doctor Simone in Toronto 161. Thank you to Cuneo’s from Hanover who delivered these items. Thank you to everyone who joined & helped us to reach this goal. See you again next January, 2025.

To all married couples   Our parish is continuing with our Two As One meetings for married couples, the second and fourth Thursdays of each month after Mass.  Couples yet to join us are welcome as well.  Come and share faith and fellowship as a couple.  Be supported in your vocation, and support other married couples.  We look forward to seeing you this Thursday!

Update: Pentecost Pilgrimage: A Sunday Evening Mass at 7 pm has been scheduled at St. Francis Xavier, May 19th for the walking pilgrims and anyone who would like to attend. Pilgrims will be spending the night on St. Francis Xavier’s grounds. More details of the pilgrimage follow. (Please note: this does not affect the normal Sunday morning 11 am Mass)

CWL Meeting: Ladies, our next CWL general meeting is 13th May, at 7pm and our guest speaker is Father Romelito. We look forward to hearing about Father’s childhood home in the Philippines and his path to the seminary and priesthood.

Change for Charity Jar The Catholic Women’s League will have their Change for Charity Jar out – collecting funds for the Saugeen Hospice next weekend (May 11/12). Bring your coin to support the local build.

Catholic Education Week! This year’s theme is “We are Called to Love”
Based on “If we love one another, God lives in us.” – 1 John 4:12

Please keep the souls of Roy Wittman (obituary) & Glen Olson and their families in your prayers

Scripture Quote to Ponder and Put in Action:

“It is more blessed to give than to receive" - Acts 20:35

John 15: 9-17    Discussion Questions:

  • 1.   What is Jesus offering us in this passage?
  • 2. What is expected of us?
  • 3. Have you experienced rejection when you have offered goodness?
