It’s our Annual Coop Mission Appeal .
YOUR SUPPORT CAN MAKE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT !

Together, we have the opportunity to bring the uplifting message of Jesus to those in need in India. The Vincentian priests serving in the North Indian Missions rely on your generosity to continue their vital work. Your prayers and financial contributions play a crucial role in spreading the Gospel and providing assistance to the poor and needy. This weekend, August 30/31, we are honored to welcome Fr. John Paul VC, a dedicated missionary from the North Indian Province – St. Thomas Province of the Vincentian Congregation. He will be sharing more about the important work being done in North Indian Missions and seeking your support for the Missions. We humbly ask for your kind and generous donations to support this noble cause. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of those in need and help spread hope and love to communities in North India. Thank you for considering how you can help make a difference through your prayers and support.
Please use one of the envelopes provided. Donating by cheque – payable to the PARISH. Using a blank envelope – mark it “ Mission Coop” with your name and address. You will receive your income tax receipt at year end from the parish for your donation.

Considering becoming a Catholic?
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is the normal way in which adults become full, active, participating members of the Catholic Church. If you are considering becoming Catholic or know of someone who is interested in becoming a Catholic, please pick up from the narthex the brochure “Consider Becoming a Catholic,” fill out the form on the back (including an email address if you have one) and drop it into the parish office, or in the collection basket. The office will then organize an appointment for the inquirer to see Fr. Romelito.  Interviews with Father are informal and should be completed by September as we plan to commence the next RCIA program in October. We will meet weekly from October to late April next year. For further information, please contact Francis-Joseph (FJ) Gross, the RCIA coordinator, on 519-364-2072 or fjhgross@wightman.ca

Interested in journeying alongside a RCIA candidate as a Catholic Sponsor? Learn more. Contact F.J. Gross (see above information)

Let’s work together for a Scent-free Environment – please note some members of our community have very negative reactions to scents. Thank you.

Play a Musical Instrument?
Consider volunteering and sharing your gift and talent at the Sunday 11am Mass in Carlsruhe. Please speak with Claire or Mary-Catherine after Mass.

Reflection on Today’s Gospel Luke 14: 1, 7-14

  • Share your experience when you were impressed by someone’s humility
  • How is humility sometimes misunderstood?
  • Why does Jesus teach us about humility – why is it so important?
  • How does it affect our relationships (with God, with others)
  • How can one grow in humility? Is there a short bible verse that could be useful to reflect upon?‘
