Proclaiming the Scriptures If you are interested in serving the parish community by lectoring, at Mass, (in any one of our three churches) please contact the parish office. On Monday, March 24th, 6-9 pm there will be a Diocesan lead workshop at St. Francis Xavier Church in Carlsruhe. This will give potential readers or experienced readers an opportunity to learn more about liturgy, sacred scripture and the tools available to help you prepare to proclaim, as well as ask practical questions. We all have different gifts and abilities – if reading aloud is one of yours, consider sharing it with the church community as a service to God. Thank you.

Reflection on Today’s Gospel Luke 6:17, 20-11 Discussion Questions

  • What is your initial reaction to this passage? What sense do you get – that Jesus is saying “Blessed are you? (have hope) Or woe to you? (amend your ways)
  • What small action can we take to live more faithfully, and intentionally as a disciple of Christ?
  • How does the messages we hear in the world (social media/television/friends etc) agree or contrast with the passage
