Note of Thanks:
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
The bishop has asked me to take up a new assignment, and while I go with obedience and trust, I leave here with a heart full of gratitude, memories and affection. Serving this parish has been truly an honor.
Thank you for allowing me to walk with you in faith. Thank you for the privilege of celebrating the sacraments with you, baptizing your children, preparing your families for the Eucharist, sharing in your joys, and standing with you in moments of sorrow. You have helped me grow as a priest, and I am grateful for every encounter, every conversation , and every prayer we shared.
To people who helped and prayed for me during the challenging time of my surgery, I am forever grateful to you.
Please pray for me as I begin this new chapter, and know that I will continue to hold you in my prayers. May the Lord bless this parish with peace, unity, and a deep love for Christ and His Church.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Fr. Romelito Guillen
Thank you to everyone who attended and assisted with the Parish picnic and send off gathering last Sunday.
It was a lovely time of delicious food and fellowship.
Special thanks to the Knights of Columbus who paid the cost of the bbq and to the many volunteers to assisted with the afternoon. It was wonderful to see such a great turn out to express sincere appreciation of Father Romelito’s time and talents spent here in our community.
We wish him abundant blessings as he continues to serve God’s people. May he receive a warm welcome in Paris, ON.
On Wednesday (June 24th) we welcome Fr. Kevin Upendran as our new pastor.
Holy Family’s Stewardship Advisory Committee has compiled a Parish Directory, which is inserted into the bulletins this week. The Directory is meant to inform everyone about parish life and activities. Above all, it is meant to acknowledge the priceless effort and commitment of every member in making our parish thrive and truly to be a family.
Month of the Sacred Heart
Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is more than a set of prayers; it is a way of life. It teaches us patience, generosity, forgiveness and compassion in a world often marked by division and indifference. This month, consider simple practices such as praying as a family, performing acts of charity, or spending time in
Eucharistic adoration or quiet prayer. We invite you to say at the beginning of each day this prayer:
We invite you to say at the beginning of each day this prayer;
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day for all of the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in thanksgiving for your favours, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all my family and friends, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father, Amen.
Additional prayers and resources for the Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus are available on the diocesan website: www.hamiltondiocese.com/sacredheart
Reflection on Today’s Gospel
Re-read Matthew 10:26-33
How does it leave you feeling when it reads: “There is nothing concealed that will not be
disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known”
How can you respond to the heeded warning to “Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Commit to one action this week that will help you grow in your awareness of God’s deep love and care for you, and one action that helps you be more aware of the temptations of everyday life trying to lure you away from the Father’s love.
