Lenten Confession
Take time now to plan your Lenten confession. Father is available a half hour before all Masses. Resources to help you examine your conscience are on the table in the Narthex. Be encouraged by this promise of grace…
Excerpt from the Diary of Sr. Faustina: Diary 1602 “ When you go to confession, to this fountain of My Mercy, the blood and Water which came forth from My Heart always flows upon your soul”…and “Every time you go to confession, immerse yourself entirely in My Mercy with great trust, so that I may pour the bounty of My Grace upon your soul. When you approach the confessional, know this, that I Myself am waiting for you. I am only hidden by the priest, but I Myself act in your soul. Here the misery of the soul meets the God of Mercy
St. Francis Xavier – Important Meeting The St. F.X. Finance Committee would like to invite all parishioners and friends to meet after Mass on Sunday, March 16th to discuss the parish finances. Items to consider include replacement of the existing furnaces, on-going repair work, and planning for the repair, restoration or replacement of the stained-glass windows. As well as providing current information, we would like to discuss and identify priorities for any future work, and develop a possible plan for fundraising. It is imperative that direction comes from parishioners and that decisions concerning the continued maintenance of our building be made as a parish. Please plan to attend.
An afternoon to remember!
Thank you to the Boerkamp Family and the Knights of Columbus for a family fun afternoon at the farm. It was a wonderful way to learn about dairy production, enjoy time with the church community and experience an old fashioned sleigh ride! The Knights presented the parish with donations of $476. from the event, while they covered the costs of the day. It was estimated that 100 plus people were in attendance.
Proclaiming the Scriptures If you are interested in serving the parish community by lectoring, at Mass, (in any one of our three churches) please contact the parish office by this Monday. The following Monday, March 24th, 6-9 pm there will be a Diocesan lead workshop at St. Francis Xavier Church in Carlsruhe. This will give potential readers or experienced readers an opportunity to learn more about liturgy, sacred scripture and the tools available to help you prepare to proclaim, as well as ask practical questions. We all have different gifts and abilities – if reading aloud is one of yours, consider sharing it with the church community as a service to God. Thank you. (Contact parish office by March 17th if you plan to attend)

Reflection on Today’s Gospel Luke 9: 28-36 Discussion Questions
- How would the other 9 disciples feel being left out of the experience?
- Is there a time in your life, you felt left out, but after realized God had a plan in that?
- Have you ever been given responsibility you wished you did not have?
- What can we learn pondering what the Lord gives and takes and what ideally our response should be? What can we do to work towards that?
