Invitation to write your deceased loved ones in the Book of Life

During the month of November, Catholic tradition is to put an extra emphasis on praying for the deceased.  We have set up a book near the tabernacle and invite you to enter names of your deceased loved ones.  We include “the names written in our Book of Life”  in our prayers of the faithful throughout the month.

COVID-19 Safety Measures

Masks: Father would like to remind all parishioners that they are required to wear a mask while inside the building and to keep it on for the duration of Mass. Thank you for your cooperation.

Volunteers:  Proof of vaccination or notifying the parish office to plan a rapid test is now required for parish volunteers until further notice.  More info

Assist a needy family this Christmas

“Gift Cards” can be picked up from the Giving Tree.  Fill out your name and place that portion in the Donor Box while keeping with you the tear off section listing the age and size of the  child.   Please return the unwrapped gift by December 8th.    Other ways to help are contribute non-perishable food, or make a financial contribution to St. Vincent de Paul.

Knights of Columbus Religious Christmas Card Sale

When giving cards and celebrating this Christmas season, “Keep Christ in Christmas”.   We thank the Knights for making  beautiful cards available.  They can be purchased during regular parish office hours.

CWL Membership now due

The Catholic Women’s League of Canada is an amazing organization focusing on personal spiritual development, supporting and encouraging others, and contributing to the church and the world today.  Our Holy Family Council is now collecting 2022 membership dues of $25.00.  Mark “CWL membership” on an envelope with your contact information and put it in the offering box or drop into the parish office.  Those submitted by Dec. 1st will have their name entered in a draw for a free membership.  If you want to know more about becoming a member, contact Geraldine Million at 519-363-9690

This Sunday’s Gospel

Mark  13: 24-32

Discussion Questions

  • How do you feel when you hear this gospel? Afraid, excited, worried for loved ones?
  • What does ‘my words will not pass away’ mean to you?  Does it affect your desire to soak in God’s words?
  • Jesus refers to learning from a fig tree.  Do you find  life pushes on, and time to learn is jeopardized in the pace of daily duties?  Is there some change you could make to improve your quality or management of time?
