The Giving Tree

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is busy planning and preparing for the annual Christmas Hamper program for the less fortunate in our community.  We like to make a difference and bring some joy to their lives this Christmas. If you’d like to assist a needy family this Christmas please pick up a “Gift Card” from the Giving Tree.  Fill out your name and place that portion in the Donor Box  while keeping with you the tear off section listing the age and size of a child.

Catholic Women’s League Membership Due (Month of November)

The Catholic Women’s League of Canada is an amazing organization focusing on personal spiritual development, supporting and encouraging others, and contributing to the church and the world today.  Our Holy Family Council is now collecting 2024 membership dues of $40.   Mark “CWL membership” on an envelope with your contact information and put it in the offering box or drop into the parish office.  Those submitted by Dec. 1st will have their name entered in a draw for a free membership.  If you want to know more about becoming a member, contact Geraldine Million or the parish office.

Card Party on Tuesday, Nov. 21st in cancelled.

Adoration Chapel – Open Hour   Wednesday evening 6-7 pm   Consider spending one hour a week in quiet prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.  For more info please call Don Waechter or the parish office.

Please Remember in your prayers the soul of Brian Cerutti, and consolation for his family    (See Mighton’s Obituaries for details)

Consider leaving a gift to the parish through your Will

A gift (sometimes referred to as a bequest) to the parish is a profound way to return to the Lord a share of the blessings you received in your lifetime.  Bequests are quite simple to include in your Will, and have become increasingly common for people to do.  Your financial advisor can assist you with this.   A gift like this can help the parish maintain and upkeep our churches for generations to come – thank you for considering this type of gift to the parish.

This Sunday’s Gospel

Matthew 25: 14-30

Discussion Questions:

  •  Have you ever called out to Jesus in desperation?
  • Have you experience disappointment in how someone managed a gift / blessing that you provided?  Use this reflection to help you see how God hopes for OUR response to His blessings.  What might you manage better?
