“Celebrating 100 years of Active Faith, Hope and Love”

Holy Family to celebrate 100 years as a parish on Sunday, 31 October at 11 am. July 1, 2021 marked the 100th anniversary of Holy Family as a parish in its own right. Prior to that, ours was a mission church of St Francis Xavier Church in Carlsruhe. Because of COVID restrictions, celebrations in July were postponed, but we are now proceeding with a Centenary Mass to to be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at 11 am, with Auxiliary Bishop Wayne Lobsinger celebrating. A short historical presentation will follow the Mass.

There will be only one Mass that Sunday to encourage optimum participation; there will be no 9 am Mass that Sunday.

Parishioners are encouraged to bring to the parish office within the next week for temporary loan any relevant historical photos relating to the church, the parish, its lay organizations, previous pastors, the parish school and the former convent. The photos would be digitally scanned and then displayed over the next few weeks on the parish monitors and/or social media. Contact: FJ Gross @ fjhgross@wightman.ca or 519 364 2072.

COVID-19 Safety Measures

Masks: Father would like to remind all parishioners that they are required to wear a mask while inside the building and to keep it on for the duration of Mass. Please read his letter instructing those who are unwilling or unable to wear a mask to stay home.

Volunteers:  The Diocesan Policy has been updated making an allowance for Rapid testing for unvaccinated volunteers.   A reminder to volunteers who have been vaccinated to please submit your proof of vaccination to the parish office.  Thank you to those who have already made their submission.  To clarify, those who have submitted their proof of Vaccination, you are not required to rapid test.  Those wishing to continue to offer their volunteer service without vaccination, we ask you to notify the parish office this week so that we may prepare accordingly and provide you with parish procedure, which will come into effect October 31st, 2021 until further notice.  More info

St. Vincent Christmas Hamper Project

Christmas still seems far away, but this is the time when the Vincentians have to start planning for the Christmas hampers for the less fortunate in our community.  If you, or someone you know, needs a hamper for Christmas, please call the parish office.  We always hear in the gospel how much Jesus loves the poor, so please, do not be shy, it is our privilege to help.
