Life Chain across Canada – Details for Hanover – Sunday, October 5th
1:30 Prayer Service at Holy Family Church 2 – 3 pm Silent Witness on Main Street. There will be a time of fellowship and refreshments following in the Lenhard Room. Please consider coming out and being a voice for the unborn.
What is the Life Chain? Life Chain will take place in towns and cities all across Canada and the United States. Participants (men, women, youth, & families,) spread out down one side of the main street and silently, prayerfully hold a provided sign for one hour. If you find standing difficult, feel free to bring your lawn chair. Why? It is an excellent opportunity to join with others in: Silent prayer for an end to abortion and for change in the social acceptance of abortion, Public awareness of the truth that all life from the moment of conception needs to be protected. Statement to the government that we do not support the legalized killing of unborn babies that our tax dollars pay for. It is an action of Christian justice. God has warned us we will be held accountable for what we do, and what we fail to do.

Card Party on Tuesday Afternoons – All are welcome
Join with others for a friendly game of euchre or solo on Tuesdays at 1:30 pm, in the Holy Family Lenhard Room. Bring a friend. $2. Admittance

Bring a non perishable food item with you to Mass. Mark it for local (St. Vincent de Paul) or missions (Canadian Food for Children) Thank you for sharing with the less fortunate.

Let’s work together for a Scent-free Environment – please note some members of our community have very negative reactions to scents. Thank you.

Play a Musical Instrument?
Consider volunteering and sharing your gift and talent at the Sunday 11am Mass in Carlsruhe. Please speak with Claire or Mary-Catherine after Mass.

Reflection on Today’s Gospel
Discussion Questions: Luke 17: 5-10

  • Why do you think Jesus follows his response to the disciples request for an increase in faith with a parable about a worthless slave. Is there a connection?
  • Ponder a time you asked in faith for something and it was not granted. How did it feel at the time? How about looking back now?
  • Share about a time you have been surprised at a answered prayer.
  • In your daily prayers this week, ask for an increase in your faith. Take time to listen to God’s response – is he guiding you in a direction of spiritual growth?
