  • Extraordinary Minister of Communion to the Sick, Homebound and Hospitalized Formation Workshops
Like many other parishes, we send extraordinary minister of Communion (EMoC) to the faithful who are ill and deprived of their rightful and accustomed place in the Eucharistic Community.
EMoC, who have this responsibility, represents Christ and manifests faith and charity on behalf of the whole community toward those who cannot be present at the Eucharist. It is helpful and important that EMoC receive formation regarding liturgical instructions and ministerial responsibilities. A workshop is provided by the Diocese at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, Owen Sound on Friday, September 19th, check in at 6 pm, workshop 6:30 – 9 pm. Please contact the parish office if you would be interested in serving our community in this way and registering for this workshop.
  • Ministers of the Word (refresher for existing ministers every 3 years please) or for someone new to the ministry
Would you like to proclaim the Word of God at Mass?

Scripture Quote to Ponder & Put into Action:
“So teach us to count our days, so we may gain a wise heart” Psalm 90

Let’s work together for a Scent-free Environment – please note some members of our community have very negative reactions to scents. Thank you.

Play a Musical Instrument?

Reflection on Today’s Gospel Luke 14: 25-33

  • What do you think Jesus meant for us to take literal and figuratively from this passage?
  • What has being a Christian “cost” you?
  • Why is it worth it?
  • Does your sacrifice make Christianity “sweeter”?
  • Share how someone else’s sacrifice for Christianity has been a motivator for you.
  • Pray for strength to give up anything holding you back from all God has called you to.
