Update on 2020-11-11
Thank you to all Holy Family parishioners who packed shoebox gifts this year and gave financial donations to our project. We have transported our 80 Holy Family shoeboxes to our Central Drop Off Center in the portable across from the Missionary Church in Hanover. From there we will be receiving shoeboxes from churches, groups and individuals from Wellington, Dufferin, Grey and Bruce Counties from Nov. 17-22. The shoe boxes will be transported by truck to Mississauga, where they will be put on the train to Calgary and be processed for shipment to our receiving countries: Nicaragua, Costa Rica and El Salvador in Central America and to Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau and Sierra Leone in West Africa. If partnerships can be formed some gifts may even make their way to Northern Canada. How Great is our God!
Thank you to parishioners who will volunteer to help staff our Drop Off Center and who will help load the truck with such gifts of Love. Your support and encouragement are so appreciated. Many boys and girls who are experiencing desperate conditions during pandemic restrictions, will be so blessed with God’s Love and Joy as a result of your generosity.
Update on 2020-10-03:
Thank you to all parishioners who picked up Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to pack for needy children, who need our love and support more than ever in these times of Covid restrictions. Many children have been unable to attend school and families are suffering from food shortages due to lockdowns.
Please bring packed gifts back to Holy Family on or before the weekend of Nov. 7 and 8. Fr. Azike will bless our shipment before it leaves.
You can make a donation to our team to use for shipping, as we pack so many creations donated by our faithful parishioners into shoebox gifts. Each box requires a $10 shipping coverage and we always struggle to meet that cost. Tax receipts are available for donations of $20 or more.

Operation Christmas Child Reaches out to Needy Children
This year Operation Christmas Child donors have many options to reach out to God’s children with His Love and Mercy. In these times of pandemic hardship, children in developing countries need to learn how God cares for them more than ever.
You are able to:
- Get your empty shoeboxes to pack at our Drive through curb side Put them in your trunk event on the weekend of Oct 3 and 4th in the church parking lot, after the weekend Masses.
- You can schedule a time to drop over to our Community Curbside Go Event at the Hanover Missionary church, at the portable, on Monday September 28. Call Sharon Hoffarth 519-375-4742 to book your time to pick up supplies. See the attached poster for more details.
- You can make a donation to our team to use for shipping, as we pack so many creations donated by our faithful parishioners into shoebox gifts. Each box requires a $10 shipping coverage and we always struggle to meet that cost.
