We would like to thank you for your generous contributions to our Parish in 2020, particularly during this difficult year.
In 2020 :
- There were 647 families registered with Holy Family
- 20 children were baptized
- 4 adults were received into the Church through the R.C.I.A. program
- 6 funerals were conducted in the Church
- 1 funeral was conducted in the funeral home
- 3 marriages were celebrated or convalidated
- 53 ‘shut-in’ parishioners receive Communion weekly/bi-weekly
- 22 people participated in “hybrid” Alpha in fall 2020
- Over 30 youth were involved in our youth ministry
- Nearly 100 parishioners were part of a small group
- 25 people took part in the annual parish retreat
PAR and e-transfers have provided a convenient means for many parishioners to maintain their financial commitment to the church. If you need more information about PAR (monthly automatic withdrawals from your bank account) or about e-transfers please call a committee member or the parish office.
Thanks to the Federal Government’s wage subsidy program we received a total of $10,161.10 and were able to keep our dedicated staff working to keep the parish running smoothly and to help parishioners with their needs.
We were able to pay in full our Cathedraticum commitment of $30,693.00. Cathedraticum is assessed at 11% of our income received in the previous year.
A computer and a new projector lamp were donated for streaming and projecting the words for Mass. The CWL donated a new digital mixer for the music ministries.
We were aware that the rectory furnace needed to be replaced and we budgeted for a replacement in 2021. However it couldn’t wait that long and after Fr. Emmanuel endured a cold weekend in November, a new furnace was installed in the rectory.
The rectory hot water tank was also replaced. The replacement of the tank meant that we were able to replace the gas exhaust pipes and bring them up to current code
A solar powered motion sensor light was installed on the south side of the Church. We hope this will provide greater security to those entering and leaving the adoration chapel after night-fall.
Our wish list for 2021 is first and foremost a successful capital campaign which will greatly enhance and enlarge the programs in our parish. We also hope to complete the following:
- Replace the light in the parking lot to LED to save future energy costs
- Paint the office
- Purchase AED and train staff in its use
In appreciation for allowing the many teachers and assistants at Holy Family school to use our parking lot, the school board will re-paint the lines and markings in the parking lot at their expense.
With your help and support we hope to be able to attend to the items above in 2021. These items are our priority, however looking ahead there are many other items which will need our attention
As you can see, just as with our own homes, there is an ever present list of items to be maintained, upgraded or replaced and your ongoing generosity is necessary for our parish to continue to grow and serve one another.
The financial health of a parish reflects the Faith and commitment of its people. Your love and generosity is appreciated very much. May the Lord reward your kindness with many graces and continued growth in His Spirit. If you have any questions or would like a more detailed financial breakdown please don’t hesitate to contact one of the finance committee members shown below.
God Bless
Fr. Emmanuel, Jennifer Dimeck, Rick Zacharewicz, Norma Jeanne King, Mark Ducharme
